Tuscany

I am planning a trip to Tuscany next year, part cultural, Pisa, Florence and Siena and part walking. I was looking at walking in the Alpi Apuane but the walks described in the guide book look tougher than what I was hoping for.

I was wondering if any ODers have walked in Tuscany and if so can they recommend an area and a place to base for access to the walks. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Pisa. Claudette.
The response to this is amazing, my flabber has never been so gasted. I am currently working out an itinerary of walks and visits. I will be posting the invitation in a couple of weeks time so watch the invitation boards. It may be that because of the numbers some will be disappointed. I hate excluding anyone. I will probably repeat the following year if all goes well so those who missed out can have another opportunity.

Hi Dougie I may be interested, will also speak to Jill & Debs

Lazlo Woodbine 23/02/2019 13:27

Right. I have done some research and found a fabulous 10 bedroom villa with own private pool in the Chianti region. The villa sleeps 19 but it would be best if the number was 14. The cost would be then about ?200 per week in a shared room and ?250 per week in a single room. That would mean 6 people in single rooms and 8 in shared rooms. Flights are around ?100 from Gatwick and ?130 from Manchester. Anyone interested make it known on here and if there is enough interest I will put it up as an invitation. Remember this is for 2020.

Hi LW. We are planning to walk the Renaissance Ring around Florence, 172km in total, but you can dip in and out of it. The Florence Tourist Info have good info on this and emailed an English version to me, worth looking into.
