H40: Just mentioned the water in reply to you.....and here it is. The rivers/ streams were full in the Howgills too and we had a detour to avoid flooding at the end of our walk. No photos from me as the others have taken better ones.
TrotOn: There was a great deal of water in the rivers, but on the whole it was dry underfoot, being mostly limestone area, although we cut out the dalesway section of the walk to avoid paddling in water in the valley bottom.
H40: Six days later, with glass ice everywhere at home, I needed spikes to take Kip for a walk! Let's not complain about last weekend.
Might just pack all my winter gear for the Lakes at New Year. Enjoy Northumberland.🙂
