Thank you Outdoor Duo for connecting us back in 2015 ... 3 years on we're now a happily married couple! V&M x

I have met somebody to share with.

This has been a great group for friendships and great outdoor experiences as well as for dating. I now have a life partner, and have recommended OD to others who've joined. My heartfelt thanks to you! xx

LaurieC if we have met then it would probably have been last year but if we have met then it will be lovely to see and meet you again

i'm hoping that with the weather set to get a fair bit cooler than it is at the moment that we will encounter snow on the tops

TC   on 29/11/18 @ 19:00 said:

What is the scrambling like please? I'm not keen on exposure.....

taz  on 02/12/18 @ 0:18 said:

TC: the scrambling is contained --- the scramble is up the head of the valley max Grade 2 (some moves require hands and feet to be used - my dog has no problems with it) so no real exposure as such - if the wind is in the west then you'll get a helping hand up the slope - there is some Grade 1 scrambling for short stretches on the tops but it's not technical
--- hope this helps

TC   on 03/12/18 @ 21:40 said:

Thanks Taz. I'll probably risk it, if I can actually get up there. Work might get in the way. Will be keeping an eye on the weather as well, so it will be a last minute decision.

So sorry to have to cancel but family circumstances have. Changed meaning I have to drive up to Peterhead beyond Aberdeen this weekend

taz  on 11/12/18 @ 15:40 said:

Hi Ruth
sorry to hear about your troubles - hope that it heals up really well and is as strong as it was

taz  on 11/12/18 @ 15:40 said:

no worries Dale

taz  on 14/12/18 @ 9:44 said:

from the reports i'm getting - there is some snow on the tops now with heck of a lot more forecast throughout tonight and tomorrow with at least 4" expected by sunset tomorrow

should be really good fun - i do have a back up scramble that is pretty much sheltered all the way round so no need to worry

also anyone that has been on one of my walks / scrambles in the past will tell you that i don't take risks with other peoples lives - we go out together and we come back together with only the face of fatigue to show for our efforts

i look forward to seeing those that are coming in the car park at the end of Hartsop village

TC   on 14/12/18 @ 17:31 said:

Hi Taz. Forecast is very cold, strong winds, icy rain and difficult walking conditions. I've been up to 600m today and it was already icy underfoot. Bearable today as sun was out but likely to be quite unpleasant tomorrow. I have spikes and don't mind being out on snow but am going to give this a miss and will do something lower if conditions are better than expected. Sorry.

LaurieC   on 14/12/18 @ 23:26 said:

Hi Taz, I’ll be there to see what can be done under the prevailing conditions. I’ll bring all my winter gear. See you in the car park.

LaurieC   on 15/12/18 @ 6:23 said:

Hi Taz, the forecast is now showing very high wind speeds that even I am not prepared to venture out into. So, I’m going to give this a miss. Hope you see this in time.
