Starting at the village of Barley in an AONB – the Forest of Bowland in Lancashire - this is a strenuous walk with 2 steep climbs and an ascent of 727m.
We will be stopping for lunch at the picturesque village of Downham owned by the Lord of Clitheroe and which was used during the filming of Whistle Down the Wind and the series Born and Bred.
During a recent recce it was noticed that on most of the paths dogs are to be kept on a lead.
Drinks afterwards at the Pendle Inn where food is served.
Meet at Barley village Car Park at 9:45 for a prompt start at 10:00.
Parking is £1 all day in an Honesty Box.
There are toilets and Café available in the Car Park
