What has OutdoorDuo done for me?

I have met a very special lady through this site. Thank-you for your help
Barry M

It was a great experience to join OD back in April 2016 and meet some very nice like-minded people; I enjoyed some amazing walks that I would otherwise never discovered.

I met M on the site about 2 years ago and we are now about to move in together. I keep recommending people to OD as it's been fantastic and I've loved being part of the 'family'.Thank you for everything.Vee

I have found someone and we are getting along very well. I am pleased I heard about your Site from a friend as I consider it to be a good genuine site for finding someone compatible. Many thanks

HillyH: Thanks for putting up your invite. I'll be walking the Cleveland Way that day so won't be able to join you. If the weather is good, hopefully, some of my regular walking OD friends might be available?

Shame, hope you enjoy the Cleveland way though.

Hi the Langdale valley is always a great place to walk, with stickle tarn and the pikes. I hope to join you but if unable have a great walk all the best.

Hi, I intend to be in the Lakes that weekend.
Happy to join you for either or both days.

Let me know when you have decided what area and what day(s).

I am happy in full winter conditions on fell tops so please dont feel restricted.

Would love to join you but busy that weekend.

Hello, my pooch and I might be able to join you on Sunday, are you planning to do a high Fell walk or lower option?

HillyH   on 12/01/18 @ 23:04 said:

Excellent. I can do Sunday if you are both around then. I'm am happy in snow but not competent or as happy on ice. Will also have my collie with me so mid range would be good depending if there has been a fresh snow fall (looking possible at the moment) Langdales would be great especially if we get down in time to go to Chesters

I will probably be in the area Sunday & Monday, on one of my monthly getaways, so could join up on Sunday, will confirm next week.

Spring   on 13/01/18 @ 9:16 said:

Sounds good HillyH Tizzie dog and I will be with you Sunday

We will probably be out on Saturday but enjoy the snow and ice so may head off for a full winter trip to the high fells. Likely to post at last minute once we see the conditions.

Had a look at a few walks in the area and lingmoor fell seems good. Anyone know /have any comments on this walk?

Spring   on 15/01/18 @ 18:07 said:

Lingmoor (and option to include Side Pike with its ‘squeeze’ from either Elterwater or Old Dungeon Gill is a lovely walk. On this occasion I𠆝 recommend you choose Elterwater as the start on so we have the cold wind (SSE) on our backs as we climb up along the ridge

HillyH   on 15/01/18 @ 22:05 said:

Sounds good Would a 10 am start work?

If the weather is good this weekend I should be able to join you Saturday and/or Sunday.

Spring   on 16/01/18 @ 19:11 said:

HillyH: I would suggest a 9.30 start because days are shorter and car parks fill up early too! This walk (with Side Pike ) is 5-6 hours so we need some contingency time or we can start later and do a shorter version without the pike. Elterwater NT car park is a good place to park but if you are not NT members then you can park for free just outside the village and walk down to into the centre. Suggest meeting outside the Britannia Inn?

Hi. 9.30am Sunday outside Britannia unless I hear otherwise. Thanks for organising walk
