Thank you Outdoor Duo for connecting us back in 2015 ... 3 years on we're now a happily married couple! V&M x

I have met somebody to share with.

This has been a great group for friendships and great outdoor experiences as well as for dating. I now have a life partner, and have recommended OD to others who've joined. My heartfelt thanks to you! xx

I’m in..... an interesting invite. Will need to find somewhere to stay over

PeteK   on 23/12/17 @ 18:40 said:

Looks interesting but I'll be over in Hebden Bridge

Head for the Hills   on 23/12/17 @ 18:49 said:

I may stay too Dale.

jem1000   on 23/12/17 @ 18:56 said:

Hi Dale: there are Premier Inns at Derby and Uttoxeter. My car is a bit poorly at the moment but if I can get it sorted I will probably stay at Derby North-West.

jem1000   on 23/12/17 @ 19:03 said:

HftH: would be good to see you!

Lazlo Woodbine   on 23/12/17 @ 19:39 said:

Dale, look at Hartington YHA. Should be cheap this time of year.

Sam, might be OK as a celebration after we have put the plastic Mancs to the sword on Friday. Is it a full moon in the 6th?

grey_brother   on 23/12/17 @ 21:35 said:

There's a Travelodge in Ashbourne. Don't know about the full moon - but, even if there is, you won't actually see it until Thorpe Pasture. The hills hide it. I did this walk the other week when the moon was full and rumoured to be particularly large. Hardly saw it!

Carpe Diem!   on 24/12/17 @ 12:24 said:

Thanks Sam... love the sound of your walk'll take me back to my lupine roots ... see you there!

iansmyname.....orisitjohn?   on 26/12/17 @ 21:45 said:

Great invite Sam. I'm in

BigBadJohn   on 02/01/18 @ 14:16 said:

Stepping stones in the dark should be fun! And maybe a few pubs on way. Does anyone want to meet for a pint and pie in Ashbourne before and indeed after. I intend catching Swift bus from Derby. If anyone is staying at Premier Inn Derby northwest (Mundy Arms) this is on the bus route. There are buses back in evening- last one at quarter to midnight

grey_brother   on 02/01/18 @ 17:06 said:

BBJ (welcome) - yes indeed ...... but, please note, there is no requirement to cross the river after the first two miles. Also, I anticipate (another) well-earned pint at the end!

jem1000   on 02/01/18 @ 21:19 said:

Sam, unfortunately I am not going to be able to get my car repaired in time so will have to give this a miss
Have fun all, I hope you get a clear sky.

Mountain Heather   on 02/01/18 @ 21:27 said:

Myself and Average Guy (Kev) are booked into Ilam Hall Youth Hostel on Saturday night and at the moment theYHA have bed prices reduced by 25%, so it’s worked out at ?9.75 each! Bargain!

Mountain Heather   on 02/01/18 @ 21:29 said:

Grey_brother: we might meet up at Hartington rather than head over to Ashbourne, but will confirm before Saturday.

Dale   on 02/01/18 @ 21:43 said:

Hi Heather, I booked Ilam about 5 days ago. Seems I have been diddled by ? 3.50 !!! Why would you ho to Hartington rather then Ashbourne?

grey_brother   on 03/01/18 @ 9:35 said:

MH - by all means, make your own arrangements. The walk will leave at 4 pm.

Camino Queen   on 03/01/18 @ 12:25 said:

I hope so. Do we need garlic?

grey_brother   on 03/01/18 @ 13:10 said:

Once you've got a taste for blood Di ......

iansmyname.....orisitjohn?   on 03/01/18 @ 18:46 said:

Does Garlic work on Werewolves Di??? I think that's Vampires .
Sam do we need to bring a full on undead protection pack? Or are do you have it covered? I have no silver of any kind.....So I'm stuffed if we get jumped by wolfy types

grey_brother   on 03/01/18 @ 21:39 said:

Sorry Ian - no contingencies for wolfy type attacks. Fly by the seats of our pants, I guess ....... but a Partial_UPP would be better than none I'm thinking.

Lazlo Woodbine   on 03/01/18 @ 22:23 said:

On public transport to Manchester on Friday but the public transport to Ashbourne on Saturday and back home Sunday is pathetic so will have to pull out.

grey_brother   on 04/01/18 @ 11:57 said:

Fairy nuff. See you soon Doug .... good luck Friday!

Ultreia (Jo & Alan)   on 04/01/18 @ 16:45 said:

We're booked in Ilam.

Rachael 234   on 04/01/18 @ 17:42 said:

Is anyone else parking in the P&D behind the bus station? Presumably we can leave the car there all evening/night. It isn't limited to two hours or anything?

Carpe Diem!   on 04/01/18 @ 18:12 said:

Rachael 234: No idea where I'm parking yet. Was gonna get there in good time and suss...

Camino Queen   on 04/01/18 @ 18:26 said:

Ok so i am lost. I will bring garlic and my new bite stunner. Is anyone coming from near me in mansfield to car share. Not sure about Ruby Walls n if Head for Hills over man flu she is staying at my luxury hostel with 1 bed per room and we will come over together. Buffers are good protection!

Jill18   on 04/01/18 @ 20:41 said:

There is a Premier Inn at Buxton too...

Rachael 234   on 04/01/18 @ 21:09 said:

I'm booked into Ilam YHA

Ally & Dave   on 04/01/18 @ 21:52 said:

Would it be ok if we brought our very quiet, well behaved Whippet?

grey_brother   on 04/01/18 @ 22:16 said:

Wow. Few things. No time restrictions on the P&D CP. But, also, plenty of street parking if you drive out of town centre to housing areas. There is also a well-hidden free CP just N of the park gates, I believe. Dogs are welcome and all pubs are dog friendly. But please be aware ... as some of us know already ... a dog lost on a beautiful summer day takes 1/2 a day to find. A dog lost at night is ... well ..... lost! Looks like Ilam will be busy! Great.

BigBadJohn   on 05/01/18 @ 9:06 said:

Sorry,I'm going to have to drop out

Ally & Dave   on 05/01/18 @ 9:38 said:

Don't worry he will be staying on his lead. Thanks.

Ruby Walls   on 05/01/18 @ 15:02 said:
