Great site, for finding outdoor people, have met my soulmate, thank you

Hi, It's a great site and works well I have met someone indirectly as a result Cheers

I had email conversations with a few guys and all seemed lovely. I met up with someone from the site and have started seeing him and am very hopeful that I won't be needing Outdoor Duo again!

Found someone fab on Outdoor Duo!!Best £5 I’ve ever spent

Great site. Met someone very special. Thanks for your help.

Hi Now that I have retired, I hope to get out on some of these walks! Anne

PeteK   on 07/09/17 @ 15:58 said:

Anne: hope you can get to this one. HH & Jo1: is there such a thing as too many foreign holidays in one year? Obi: work? Ah yes, I remember that.

Suzie3   on 09/09/17 @ 20:13 said:

Hi! Is there a postcode for this please? Google maps hasn't heard of any of these places!

Walking On   on 10/09/17 @ 10:08 said:

Suzie3 - the Snake Inn postcode is S33 0BJ. There are no other dwellings west (uphill) of the Inn on the A57 before the top of the Snake Pass. The layby, a loop of the old road, is on a bend about 700m from the inn, easy to find.

Walking On   on 10/09/17 @ 10:16 said:

Addendum - putting that postcode into Google takes you to Alport farm, several km further east! Not many dwellings around there. Better to follow PeteK's instructions!

Suzie3   on 10/09/17 @ 10:21 said:

Oh...well I have no idea what the instructions are because Birchen Clough doesn't exist on Google maps for me, so meeting at the car park there would be tricky?!

Suzie3   on 10/09/17 @ 10:23 said:

Shall I just look for the A57 and look for a pub? It could be a long road though....

Suzie3   on 10/09/17 @ 10:33 said:

Aha! Google maps knows the Snake Pass Inn so I should find my way! Thanks for the info Walking On

PeteK   on 10/09/17 @ 10:54 said:

Suzie3: sorry for not getting back sooner. Wise words from WO. If you're coming up the Snake Pass from the Sheffield side, the car park is about 3/4 of a mile past the Snake Inn on the right. If coming from Glossop it's shortly after you've come down off the hill.

Suzie3   on 10/09/17 @ 11:28 said:

PeteK: Thanks! I'll be coming from glossop so I guess if I get to the pub then I know I've gone too far and can turn round. Don't really know the area at all, hence the confusion. Hopefully I'll make it, will confirm nearer the time

R1chard   on 11/09/17 @ 22:14 said:

May be a bit late.

Ruby Walls   on 11/09/17 @ 22:16 said:

I'm coming Pete. I may be late, please don't wait more than an hour cos I maybe held up in traffic.

Jo1   on 11/09/17 @ 22:18 said:

Highpeakman   on 12/09/17 @ 9:24 said:

Don't be annoyed with them Pete, rise above it, they're just on holiday having fun.
I for one, would rather be on your walk even if it rains!!!! And will be!!!

PeteK   on 12/09/17 @ 13:04 said:

For those real people down to do the walk who are anxiously looking at the warnings of high winds, there is a possible alternative walk starting from the same place that doesn't involve going up on Kinder. This would take us up the Snake Path to the bottom of Kinder, along the bottom of the North Edge, down to the Ashop and back through the woods to the car park. It's about 9 miles. Not very exciting but there are a couple of plane wrecks. I've not done the path along the bottom for years so no idea what state it's in but the ground will be wet whichever way we go. So bring gaiters! We can make a decision on the route shortly before we need to move off.

TC   on 12/09/17 @ 14:54 said:

I'll be there whatever the weather.... Unless the roads are impassable. With all the clothing I have with me. Surely it can't be as bad as Monday morning was???

Suzie3   on 12/09/17 @ 20:30 said:

I'm wussing out! Wind, rain, mud...and no gaiters

Ruby Walls   on 12/09/17 @ 21:15 said:

Sounds like Combs Moss all over again!

Cookieguides   on 12/09/17 @ 21:44 said:

Highpeakman   on 12/09/17 @ 22:11 said:

Sorry Pete, can't get now as explained in my text message. Hope you all have a great time, I'm sure the weather won't be too bad.

TC   on 13/09/17 @ 7:40 said:

Are you sure you still want to go ahead with this walk????

PeteK   on 13/09/17 @ 7:42 said:

I'm still going.
