Jill18: we will give you a great birthday bash in Southport

Chris50   on 29/08/17 @ 19:59 said:

Looking forward to it; haven't been to Southport before

Carpe Diem!   on 12/09/17 @ 19:04 said:

Thanks Phil ...I'm a definite now. Why not get 2 Club Apartments? Unless others want to pay less

jo_jo   on 12/09/17 @ 21:59 said:

Phil H: Thanks so much for the update Phil. Rose, Glyn2 and myself will be booking a 2 bedroom Club apartment. I also like the idea of getting in some walks.

Phil H   on 12/09/17 @ 22:06 said:

I'm happy to go with what people want ... looks like the decision has gone out my hands anyway!

Chris50   on 12/09/17 @ 22:24 said:

Phil H: Thanks. I'm happy to go with a club apartment. Do they include electricity because we'll certainly need a bit of heating in February.

Phil H   on 12/09/17 @ 23:01 said:

The club ones include electricity. Just waiting for a reply from Nickey now.

Dale   on 13/09/17 @ 7:23 said:

I will probably be booking with my friend but should catch up with you all there

Phil H   on 13/09/17 @ 14:41 said:

The 3 girls are booking their own chalet. That leaves 3 blokes. Booking a single sex chalet (even male) seems to add a ~?20pp surcharge, so I'll hang off booking for a few days to see if a better plan can be formulated.

Carpe Diem!   on 14/09/17 @ 8:39 said:

Phil H: thanks Phil ... I'm on the OD Italian trip from early next Wed so would like to be sorted before then.
In terms of a better plsn, what are the alternatives? Won't everything get booked up very quickly? Thanks J

Marileena   on 14/09/17 @ 23:25 said:

Yoo Hoo folks, room for me?

Tracy (no 'e'!)   on 19/09/17 @ 18:46 said:

Hi Phil, am I too late? Or do we have to wait for a third female for another room and/or wait for more female bands to become available?

Phil H   on 20/09/17 @ 18:59 said:

Normal OD weekend organised chaos reigns I'm afraid! You could book for 2 but its probably worth hanging on a bit for a 3rd, seems to be a general OD consensus that 3 is best compromise for spaceiousness etc, but it's up to you what you all want.

Dale   on 21/09/17 @ 7:35 said:

Tracy, me and my friend get a two bed roomed, the chalets that are a bit more expensive but have heating in. You can leave it on all the time and not worry about using electric cards, the chalets are basic but adequate and you will find you will be out at classes and stuff a lot. The female places go quick due to their need to gender balance and there are more women dancers than men. Just a thought

Happy Gal   on 28/09/17 @ 13:52 said:

YES maybe, love Ceroc and salsa, etc etc but need to decide on skiing date first! Will let you know and hope for space. Thanks!

Happy Gal   on 04/10/17 @ 9:30 said:

Definitely now, skiing in January. Cheers!

Tracy (no 'e'!)   on 07/10/17 @ 17:02 said:

All booked, sharing with Happy Gal, looking forward to it!

Carpe Diem!   on 08/10/17 @ 1:22 said:

Tracy (no 'e'!):as usual can you lend me a ski helmet for this event as helps me to focus

Shaza    on 27/10/17 @ 19:36 said:

I get soooo confused by these events cos you have to book with an equal number of chAPS but I would love to come

Phil H   on 29/10/17 @ 0:27 said:

We need more chaps! If any males are thinking of, or being arm twisted, into going please dont book without of thinking of a cunning plan to get more women in, e.g. we book 2 mixed chalets and then swap round to make 2 single sex. Shaza, I do have a spare female wristband but it is only of any use if you negotiate sofa/bed space in one of the other chalets.

Phil H   on 29/10/17 @ 0:41 said:

There are still some 1 bedroom budget chalets that can be booked for 1 female.

Wiggy   on 22/12/17 @ 21:25 said:

i would of loved this but i am already away , hopefully next time.

jo_jo   on 12/01/18 @ 15:01 said:

That sounds ideal for me Rose. I believe you can check-in anytime after 3pm. Don't forget you need to bring your own linen and towels for this venue as Phil mentions above.

Tracy (no 'e'!)   on 12/01/18 @ 16:14 said:

I'm really looking forward to this, I have found a class in Cardiff and went for my first lesson last week, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Carpe Diem!   on 15/01/18 @ 6:33 said:

I'm hoping to arrive well before 7 too, probably late pm.

Phil H   on 15/01/18 @ 17:34 said:

If anyone is interested we could do a pub lunch & short walk Friday afternoon on route, or something like that.

Dale   on 15/01/18 @ 19:23 said:

Oh Phil, I think there’s been a mistake. I have booked independently with my friend as I usually do. I’m not down as a definite on this invitation but my comments show that I will be there but not booking with od group. I am so sorry if this has
Mislead you Phil. My friend and I booked and paid ages ago

Dale   on 15/01/18 @ 19:32 said:

Actually maybe it makes no difference and you are just listing who is there and with who. Maybe I panicked a little thinking I was involved in a double booking situation

jo_jo   on 15/01/18 @ 20:03 said:

Dale: Ha, don't panic..I'm really looking forward to this.
Phil H: thanks, but I won't be getting there until 7pm.

Carpe Diem!   on 16/01/18 @ 7:46 said:

Dale: Hi D ...I'm certain Phil knows that you've booked separately
Phil H: Thanks from me too but it'll towards t-time when I roll up.. need to maximise practice time so I don't look a total plonker

Dale   on 16/01/18 @ 12:51 said:

Thanks Jonathon, all sorted now

Tracy (no 'e'!)   on 16/01/18 @ 18:05 said:

I won't be there until late afternoon/early evening, I'm in work in the morning then driving up leaving at lunchtime.

Shaza    on 04/02/18 @ 23:51 said:

So..ever the late bird.. is there still a female wristband going?? It's a long story but I am kind of in the area and would love to come. Ping me if there is. I like a

Phil H   on 05/02/18 @ 9:32 said:

Yes, you can have the spare wristband (i.e. you nominally check in as part of my chalet) but you would need to negotiate a bed or sofa with one of the female chalets.

Shaza    on 06/02/18 @ 9:55 said:

Hi All, Paid the wristband to Phil now so it's official!! How exciting. I have done other weekenders but never a Ceroc one so it will be fun.

I am coming all the way from Cheltenham on the Friday so unsure what time I will arrive. I think that I will arrive around the same time as you Tracy (with no 'E').
Not sure who I am sharing with but my number is 07825 037 462 so I hope that I can find you

Shaza x

Shaza    on 06/02/18 @ 11:45 said:

Tracy (No E) I have emailed you re sharing and gate crashing and also I need to pay you and Happy Gal x

Phil H   on 06/02/18 @ 14:45 said:

I've sent the booking confirmation all in (and pretending to be in) my chalet. I suggest the other group leaders do the same, especially to any newbies. The most important thing is to know the REAL name of your group leader for checking in purposes.

The program for the weekend is now out:-

I am starting up a facebook group chat, I'm sure there will be much sillyness posted, but interspersed will be usefull stuff like which workshops people are going to, where we are sat, where we are eating, where the party is and other spontanious activities, maybe even some walks! I suggest you change the setting to mute.

jo_jo   on 06/02/18 @ 19:04 said:

Phil H: What is the booking confirmation? Is it something I need to do?

Phil H   on 06/02/18 @ 20:28 said:

The email you got when you booked. Lots of useful stuff in it about what to take etc.

Chris50   on 06/02/18 @ 23:42 said:

Not exactly sure when I'll be arriving in Southport so I'll say no to a lunchtime walk but wouldn't mind meeting up for a meal on Friday evening as suggested earlier, 7ish?

jo_jo   on 07/02/18 @ 8:32 said:

Phil H: I didn't get this confirmation. I had to chase them up to get an acknowledgement that I'd even booked!

Carpe Diem!   on 09/02/18 @ 9:02 said:

I'm up for a 7-ish meal too... then dancing!

Phil H   on 19/02/18 @ 11:56 said:

Marcela (Happy Gal) wants to drop out as she would only be able to make the Sunday now. If anyone wants to take her place (or knows anyone thinking about it) please contact her and/or Tracy.
