Hi Sue, just starting to research wild camping and getting some kit together. I will be getting my tent next month prob Banshee 200. Would love to join you on a trip once I am sorted with a few things if you wanted some company 🙂
I don't carry a tent any more, but I do still have my trusty Robert Saunders Backpacker 1 sqirming to be let out. That would have to be a very short trip! Especially useful with midgees aboot. I use a bivvi bag now.
I'm doing the tent route until I am more confident out on my own ... also for critters that might want to keep me company unless I shower in deet before setting off 😀 Will pop you an email when I have the basics to see if you still want some company. Would love to do something in Wales as I haven't explored there.
Have you thought of going on a diet😋 menu can be limited, but i use all dry food, soya mince, dried fruit and custard powder, potato mixture, porridge individual packets.3 days supplies usually around 1.5kg.Water always available when purified 🙂
hi guys - this is not about how to back pack !!! This is about finding that companionship of like minded souls which, for me, is the point of ODD.
I still live in hope of finding folk with the same level of fitness as myself, an unrestrained spirit of adventure and maybe some time during the week.

Also, it's not just about lack of fitness. For some of us a leisurely pace is just fine.
Great Munro Fan and Bramble
I am clocking your names for the future ! S'funny I joined to find an old man, and find two young women instead. It will be great if we ever do get together. However, I am baling out of ODD for the winter to go the Himalaya, where I plan to have an amazing adventure. Fitness is not such an issue there as I pay to have my big bag carried for me. In the mean time you have each other. Who knows, I may come back fighting fit !!
