Great weekend, Dale had so much fun she lost her sense of direction. "Are you going to Scarborough Fair". My ambition now is to grow a handlebar moustache.
What can I say!!??!! A fantastic weekend organised by two lovely people (Dale and Adam) who between them have the navigational skills of half the bats in Whitby!! 😀. Adam spent half the nights in a drunken stupor, wandering about Whitby, looking for biscuits and a place to pee!!!! 😀 Dale spent half of Monday's walk driving to Scarborough, but thankfully joined us for the last couple of miles or so!!!! 😀
Thankyou all, for the walks, the company, and Lily for at least one sensible person to chat to!! ( although with those genes, how the hell!!!) 😀
Cheers!!!! HPM and Elsie the campervan.
EEEEHhhh !!! HPM the bats in Whitby are outraged and are mounting a protest at this very moment. As for me... hands up, on this one occasion pointed the car in the wrong direction and faithfully kept on going, completing a road tour of important Yorkshire towns . I am still waiting to hear (as neither the walk leader or various other appointed or self appointed leaders could tell me in fact how long I had walked. I understood that HPM was going to measure the length using a piece of string, elastic band, his thumb or something else measuring two and a half inches, once he got home. 🙂🙂

In all seriousness, it has all been an absolute pleasure. Everybody played nice, even the weather. Thank you everybody for turning out and entering into the spirit, whether it was OD, folk music/events, the walking, alcohol or all of the above xx
I've just measured what I think was the Horcum route by string on the !:25000 map. Looks as if the first loop (minus Dale and Adam) was about 4.2 miles, and the second (with everyone) was about 7.5 miles, so just under 12 miles total. This ignores all the local kinks etc, so a GPS might well have shown over 13 miles. A great day out, whatever the distance.
Hi everyone.
Thanks for a fab weekend away and some great walks n entertainment. It was really great spending time getting to know you all and enjoy the spirit of Whitby and its festive folk music. 🙂
