Great idea Maz...im sure some of the others might join you..unless they are hung over lol....ive got family staying so probably wont be able to join you..There are some lovely walks in the Goyt valley, which is nearby xx
Best walks around Buxton.
Goyt valley, dams and the Shining tor edge.
Dragons back (Chrome Hill) and the scramble up Parkhouse hill.
Combs Moss circumnavigation.
Look them up.
I'm there on the Saturday and the plan with Maz at the moment is to meet for lunch then do an afternoon leg stretch around Buxton and Grin Low (just under 5 miles). Drop me a line if you'd like to join us.
Apologies but time has run away from me (been poorly and away) and I still haven't sorted out a route. 😮
As Tracy says, we are meeting up lunchtime Saturday but no firm arrangements made for Sunday. If anyone, who knows the area better, wants to post a walk or make a suggestion re starting place etc that would be great.🙂
Maz..Buxton is a lovely place to wonder around...and if you park at Pooles Cavern...you can walk up through Grinlow woods up to Solomons Temple....There is also a show cave at Pooles cavern and a cafe...Cant wait to see you guys x
A walk on Sunday yes. I wouldn't drive all the way across the Peak District for a five miler. Would spend more time driving than walking. Do you want me to lead a walk?
It is light until quarter to 6 now so a later start would be OK. I am the one who complains about early starts on the Wednesday wanders. What time would you think of setting off.
Aw Mitch you home ....im having a party tomo night..thats why they are starting the walk later on Sunday..your welcome to come...msg me for details..xx
Thanks for the invite Jill. I was feeling a bit miffed. Mitch criticises your "late" start and gets an invite. I offer to lead a walk and get nothing. Anyway Mitch is wrong, as the song says, when the sun is in the west, that's the time that I love best. Where is it anyway? Still thinking about Dragons Back from Earl Sterndale.
Wrong in winter I agree Mitch but in June you can have lunch and then walk until 9 30, then go to the pub, no worries about rush hour traffic jams. At the weekends an early start is usually necessary to find a parking place but during the week a later start is more pleasant.
Walk until 9:30 no way, I want to be long time home by then. I want to have spent time reflecting on the day and the walk I have done back at home not thinking that I have now got to travel back to that home at some ridiculous time, obviously I am on the wrong walking site.
Lazlo Woodbine: I don't think anyone knew what they were doing or had planned anything until late last night. I think people just wanted to stay flexible as we weren't sure what time we'd get to bed 😀

Mitch: Philtheetiler: Lazlo Woodbine: Ain't the beauty of life and folk the fact that we're all different. Variety is cool. How boring it would be if we all enjoyed walking at the same time in the same place. Free choice rocks! 🙂X
Laurie was in charge really and I think the muddy part of the walk was down to you Adam😋
It did get us to the pub quicker mind!!!!😉
Rose coloured specs? Yup I'm sure I've got some too.😀

LCLaurieC on 15/02/18 @ 14:53Dougie that would be great but we don't think we can cope with a crack of dawn start😋
MaMaz on 15/02/18 @ 17:24I'll second that Maz. I am up for a walk on Sunday too, but maybe with a little later start 😋
jjjo_jo on 15/02/18 @ 17:41It is light until quarter to 6 now so a later start would be OK. I am the one who complains about early starts on the Wednesday wanders. What time would you think of setting off.
LWLazlo Woodbine on 15/02/18 @ 20:28Lazlo Woodbine: 10:30 or 11am would suit me....how does that sound for others? Gives us time for a lie-in after our dancing 🙂
jjjo_jo on 16/02/18 @ 10:11Well, walks are getting later will soon after start looking for accommodation so can go home the morning after a walk.
MiMitch on 16/02/18 @ 13:5510.30 pm is probably about right. What do others think?
MaMaz on 16/02/18 @ 17:5810.30 is good Maz

on 17/02/18 @ 3:43If I wanted to walk that late in the day I would take my dog for a walk that's if I had a dog oh and maybe get some slippers.
MiMitch on 17/02/18 @ 3:45My vote is for 11... joining a friend for big brekky beforehand! And party goes on until midnight!

LWLazlo Woodbine on 17/02/18 @ 14:17Mr Lazlo it is your opinion which you are entitled to that I am wrong as it is my opinion which I am entitled to that doing later walks is wrong.

MiMitch on 17/02/18 @ 17:44As no one has said they are going I will withdraw my offer of leading a walk. I will be elsewhere tomorrow now.
LWLazlo Woodbine on 17/02/18 @ 17:57Mitch: Nothing wrong with getting home at 9.30, for breakfast when you have started at dawn 🙂
PhPhiltheetiler on 17/02/18 @ 19:09Now we're talking sense Philtheetiler but I can understand if some my think that's a wee bit to early for them 😉
